Het resort is in search of people who would like to compete to create the best sauerkraut stamppot of 2025. In one of the coldest months of the year, February, we are embracing the "Dutch" classic with a participation in the World Championship ‘Stamppot Cooking’ in Groningen.

 

With this open call you can apply for the qualification. You can find the button for applying at the bottom of this page. Please read all info before applying!

All makers, in broadest terms, can apply. So whether you’re an artist, writer, musician, theatre maker, dancer, actor, glassblower, ceramist or anything else, and you have a passion for cooking, this competition is for you!

 

This competition takes place at the resort. The winner will be decided by the public. This top chef will compete on behalf of the resort for the honorary title ‘best stamppot cooker of the world 2025', during the 30th edition of the World Stamppot Cooking Championship in Groningen, organised by Stichting Oud Hollandse Gerechten.

January 23 2025: qualification round at  resort HQ

February 12 2025: World Championship Stamppot Cooking / theme: zuurkool (sauerkraut), organised by Stichting Oud Hollandse Gerechten. The championship takes place in Groningen.

 

assignment

The theme of the world championship is sauerkraut, and also applies for the qualification round. You’ll be making 3 kilo of stamppot for the public to taste.

 

budget & other info

As a competitor you will receive a small budget for your expenses of €150 (incl. VAT). You need to bring your own ingredients, pots & pans that can be used on an electric stove, and other equipments. We provide an electric stove and cooking bench.
